Happy New Year!

I haven't posted anything for ages - sorry - as I've been ill with the "lurgy" like everyone else in the UK.

Still, whilst at home I've been refashioning a shirt into a bag - I'll upload pics soon - and knitting like crazy.

I used some left over Kidsilk Haze to make a brooch.

I also made a shrug based on the Everyone's Doing It pattern from some Big Wool I got for Christmas (thanks Mum!).

I'm also going to continue with Wardrobe Refashion for another 4 months. I've just sorted out my wardrobe and found loads of items to refashion. And I'm going to use the money I save to get a second-hand sewing machine (I hand sew at the moment).

I finished my Smock Top!

Given that I am the "World's Worst Completer/Finisher", I am proud to announce that I completed the Smock-Top-From-a-Blue-Scarf that I began last week. I had to adapt the pattern I had slightly as I was working with limited material. But, you can see that the completed top looks okay. I wore it out dancing and it didn't fall apart!
I'm now on the "back" of my backless waistcoat. I'm knitting simple lace ties to keep it together. Then I've just got to put in the lining (so it looks fancy) and I'm done.

I'm going Salsa dancing on Thursday and I'm refashioning a deep red and gold sari that I got from a charity shop. I'll keep you updated as to what it becomes...

The perils of buying the yarn before deciding on the project...

I bought this Tweed Yarn ages ago, and have been meaning to use it for a while, so I decided to make one of those backless waistcoats that I keep seeing people wearing.

I designed my own pattern (based on a simple halter top) and it's going well so far. However, I still have loads of yarn left and need to find some other projects to work on. I'm thinking a funnel neck coat or cape would be good, so I'm searching for patterns.

I'm also putting the finishing touches to the smock top I started last week and I'm wearing it out on Friday.
